Our
Story

It all began when my sister, Emily, asked me to build her a Chuppah for her wedding day. As a classically trained fine furniture maker working at a design firm in Atlanta, I jumped at the chance to create something meaningful. I designed a Chuppah that could pack flat for shipping, making it easy to send from Atlanta to Washington, D.C. To make it extra special, I carved Emily and her husband’s initials into the inside rail—a simple touch that made it uniquely theirs.

A year later, my cousin borrowed the Chuppah for her wedding, and I carved her initials into the rail as well. The following year, her sister—my other cousin—used it for her ceremony, and her name was added too. Over time, this Chuppah became a symbol of love, tradition, and connection in our family. Emily now has two children, and one day they’ll stand beneath the same Chuppah, their initials added to the rail alongside the others.

This family tradition sparked a passion. Friends began asking for Chuppahs, then florists and planners. After crafting over 100 Chuppahs, I launched Our Family Chuppah to help couples create their own meaningful ceremonies. Today, we rent beautifully crafted Chuppahs in a variety of woods, styles, and sizes, offering a touch of elegance and tradition to weddings of all kinds.
